full access. uac is turned off. before starting instal i turn off defender
and windows firewall. yet still i'm unable to install it. anyone have any
clues?

Hi,

I've seen cases already where software won't properly install or run if UAC
is disabled. Try re-enabling it, then right click the setup file and use
'run as administrator'.

I tried to install on Vista as well. As soon as I started the Setup
program, my computer went blank and restarted. Upon startup, Vista
asked to go online to check a solution for the improper shutdown (I
LIKE THIS NEW FEATURE!). Kaspersky 6 is incompatible with Vista, it
told me.

actually after messing around with this over the last 2 months i decided
someothing was wrong with the os install. so i reformatted the hdd, unplugged
the c drive that xp is on and reinstalled. everything now works fine and
dandy. for some reason vista has issues when instaled on a drive other than
c. had tons of permission problems with mail and some other progs. now
running kis and mail no problem. games are running alot longer and some games
i couldn't get to run are running fine. go figure
