unable to install IIS

I'm unable to install Internet Information Services
(IIS). When I look in my list of Windows Components to
add, it isn't listed. What am I doing wrong?

I have recently installed VB.net (during the
installation, it mentioned that it detected that IIS was
already installed). However, when I attempted to create
a ASP.net Web Application, I received an error stating
that a web service couldn't be found. I checked the help
and here's what it said...
"Internet Information Services (IIS) is not installed on
this computer. You need to install IIS and then
reconfigure ASP.NET to recognize it. To install IIS and
reconfigure ASP.NET On the Web server computer, install
IIS. In Control Panel, choose Add or Remove Programs and
then Add/Remove Windows Components. In the list, select
Internet Information Services (IIS) and proceed with the
installation. For details, see Windows Help."

However, when I open the Add/Remove Windows Components,
IIS isn't listed. How do I install IIS?

If you have XP Home, then IIS is neither provided nor supported. It is
one of the Pro only items

True enough. That's why the instructions come with the following disclaimer,
prominently displayed:

WARNING: Microsoft do not support the installation of IIS on XP Home
edition. This work around is not for beginners. If you have any doubts about
your ability to carry out the instructions in this article DO NOT attempt
this tutorial. Back up all your important information before attempting this
method of installing IIS. Neither the author or WebThang accept any

use of this method of installing IIS.
