Unable to Insert cut cells, or Insert move cells down

Hi,

What could be the reason that i am unable to insert cut cells into a
worksheet? After cutting the cells, right clicking on any location has the
Insert cut cells option unhighlighted. Try to insert cells also has the
Move cells down option unhighlighted.

Any help please?

Is the sheet protected, or read only?
 
Another reason could be that a macro has run. Lots of macros destroy excel's
clipboard.

It could be a _change event that's firing.

Or it could be that the developer was doing his/her best to stop users from copy
(or cutting) and pasting.

Protected sheet? Cut cells being a larger range than the available
area?

Dumb oversight ... I had shared the workgroup and didnt realise that i got
protected in the process.
