Unable to highlight text in IE 6.

I am unable to highlight text within IE 6.0.2800 using the mouse by double
clicking and right mouse button scanning. HELP.

If this happens to *all* websites:

See if these commands help, from Start/Run:

regsvr32 mshtmled
regsvr32 /i mshtml
regsvr32 jscript

I tried this and even rebooted the computer but it did not correct the
problem. I am able to highlight in all non-ie appliactions including
Netscape. It started yesterday afternoon. It does happen on all sites. Any
other ideas? I want to go back to working with IE. Thanks.

Rolling back the configuration using System Restore did not help? Try repairing IE:

Type in Start/Run

regsvr32 /i Shdocvw.dll
regsvr32 Msjava.dll
regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll
regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll
regsvr32 /i Mshtml.dll
regsvr32 /i Browseui.dll
regsvr32 /i Shell32.dll

If the problem persists, Open a CMD.exe prompt.
Type SFC.exe /scannow and press Enter.
If prompted to insert the Windows XP CD-ROM, insert it and respond to any message.
When finished, type Exit and press Enter.
