User has created a slide with a "chart" that was created using drawing
objects (box, arrows) and is trying to select all and group to move this
"chart". I clicked on the "select all" arrow in the bottom left of the
screen. The first time it selected all of the objects. The second time it
won't select any of the objects. It just puts a box around the entire
"chart". I tried using edit, select all and it selected all of the objects
however when I right-click to group the options are all greyed out.

Any help to this matter will be appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi HT,

By any chance were there any placeholders included in the selection? Using
'select all' will include any placeholders on the slide, causing the group
function gray out. If there is a placeholder selected, then grouping is
simply not permitted.

Also, you can not group a single object. The single box around all the
chart suggests that it may be already grouped. If the Ungroup command
button is available, but the group is not, then it may be that your task was
completed.

Bill,

The funny thing was the "group" and "ungroup" options were greyed. We found
out that the select all was taking the footer as well therefore turning off
the features. Then, there was a box that wasn't connecting to anything that
also turned off the features.

Thank you for your help. :)
