Do you know a FREE program, (NOT a trial one that you have to pay to use
after so many days), that I can download to extract files from a zipped
folder? My PC used to be able to unzip zipped folders, but now it doesn't
seem to work. Would appreciate a solution. Thanks.

Winzip is free, with a small nag screen before each use. WinXP zip is
useless. Microsoft is not in the compression biz, well, not yet.

Thank you David for your free PKZIP Web Site. Do you have any idea how I
could fix Windows to extract the files?

Type in Start Run

regsvr32 zipfldr

Though as you don't say exactly what happens when using the internal zip viewer I'm guessing the above will help as it does in 99% of zip folder problems. If you are in the 1% (the 99% isn't actually a bug but it gets turned off, often by another zip program) with a issue then state that issue fully.

Dear David,

I ran "regsvr32 zipfldr" like you suggested, but it didn't help. When I try
to extract files, there is a message from Windows that says: File Type: Power
Point Document File. File Extension: pps. Description: This document is a
Power Point presentation. What does it all means?

Hi David,

With my last e-mail, I wrote down exactly what the message said. What is a
Power Point Document?

Hi Again David,

It is a Microsoft Windows XP frame with the title: Microsoft Windows File
Associations. Then it says: Windows has the following information about this
file type. This page will help you find software needed to open your file.
Software or information available at: Microsoft Power Point.
