Unable to establish wireless connection

When I try to connect my roommate's computer to our
wireless router, the connection icon will go back and
forth between "One or more wireless connections are
available" and "No Wireless Connections". I have
troubleshot as much as i know and i come up with nothing.
I have swapped the NIC with a known good NIC, and the
exact same thing happens. When i set up the computer to
use a hardline connection to the router through the
regular ethernet port it works like a charm. Any ideas??
If anyone knows what might be going on please shoot me an
