Unable to enter any data

Suddenly I am unable to enter any data, numerals, letters, anything, in any
existing worksheet or in a brand new worksheet. I've tried Edit>Clear All
and other areas to delete Formats and no avail. I start to type and the
cell jumps to another location, but nothing appears. Help!
