Unable to edit,or add information on a form, nor get a blank form

I have a form built in Access 2000. I am unable to add or edit the form. I
also cannot get a blank form to start a new record. I can add or change any
data as long as I go back to the tables the information would be stored in. I
have checked the properties on the form and all are set to allow edits, data
entry, deletions, & additions. I tried building a new form from this table and
/ or other tables and get the same result. The form was built using the
wizard. Any suggestions & help is appreciated.

Does the form bound to the table or to a query that include the table, if to
a query check if you can edit the query

I have the exact same form built directly from the tables & from a qry. Both
give me the same problem. The qry's I have tried are all uneditable. The Form
that I built from tables shows the information I added directly into the
tables while the qry's come back with no data and the form built off the qry
has no data either.

"Built from the tables" is not relevant. I assume you are talking about
using the form creation wizard and telling it to use a certain table or
tables. In that case the wizard is going to use that table or tables and
build queries from them so in the end you are stil using a query for your
form.

Many queries (due to the way they are structured) do not allow edits. This
is likely what is happening particularly if you are choosing more than one
table. Queries containing more than one table are often not editable.

Try and change the UniqueRecords Property of the query to true, and see if
you can update

How can I ensure that it is editable? All my other QRY's I can edit the
information. Most of these are linked to my main table that stores all the
addresses & ID's to the 1300+ properties I maintain. I also tried to rebuild
the form w/out the wizard (created from design view) and have the same
problem. I really need a form that I can insert all the roof inspection
information and print out the copies of the form and send them to corp, each
location, and for the files I am required to keep. I will be having the
building people use this form so that I don't have to enter the information
and they don't have to hand write the information.

Thanks

Open the form in design view and find the RecordSource property in the
property sheet. Press the [...] button to the right of the property and the
query designer for the form's RecordSource will open. Switch to datasheet
view in the query designer and see if you can make edits directly in the
datasheet. If you cannot then that is your problem.

There is a help topic you can read titled "When can I update data in a
query?" Read that and then look again at the query. It might be possible
to tweak the design so that it becomes editable.
