unable to download anything off websites, flash not working on websites

all of a sudden I can't download anyhting off any
websites, including important patches for windows and
such, it gives me the error of the website is down or
can't be found when I know it's only doing this for me,
and not anyone else.
also any websites with Flash media do not work even
though I do have the Flash player...
I would try uninstallign then redownloading it but I
can't download anything off a website
any help would be appreciated thanks!

Do you get any error messages?

for downloading things I get
Internet Explorer cannot download (insert whatever file)
from (insert website)
Internet Explorer was not able to open this Internet
site. The requested site is either unavailable or cannot
be found. Please try again later.

this isn't right, because it works for someone else if I
ask them to try it and I get the error for anyhting i try
and download.

For flash problems, the screen where the Flash media is
used stays blank. I could let it go for half an hour and
it won't load. I tried to redownload the Flash player
(though i alreayd have the latest installed) but since i
can't download anyhting I'm stuck

Try clearing your Temporary Internet Files.
