Previously I have visited my bank web site and displayed my bank statement as
a PDF file. Now, when I click on the statement, the PDF screen hangs up and
will not display the information.
I have previously visited another web site by clicking on a link in an email
which then displays a PDF document. Now, when I click on this link nothing
will display
in the PDF format.

How about reinstalling adobe acrobat again? It looks like the installation
has been corrupted and I also suggest download MS's Antispyware program to
scan the system completely (takes about 15 minutes) to remove any uninvited
scums in your system unknown to you.

In Windows Explorer if you right click does it say as an option "Open
with Acrobat? If not click on Properties and see what opens with. You
could have a file association problem.

Do you have Adobe Acrobat Reader? In Windows Explorer if you right
click, select Properties and you will see a Change button which you can
click to create or change a file association.

Hope this helps.
