Unable to decompress files

I'm running XP professional SP2 and I downloaded a compressed file I know is
safe. When I open the compressed folder I do not see a listing of files even
though the file properties says it is about 394Kin size. I opened the
properties dialog box and clicked on "Unblock" as instructed but I'm still
not able to view the files. When I try to decompress the folder I get a
security alert I'm pretty sure came with SP2. (I tried using WinZip and was
able to confirm there were contents within the compressed folder but when I
tried to upzip it I got the same error message.) Can anyone help?

I am experiencing the same problem since I downloaded XP Service Pack 2. I
cannot extract zipped files even after I go to the file and click "unblock"
as described in the XP security dialog box. These files are compressed
PowerPoint files from a trusted site.

Has anyone offered a resolution?
