Unable to debug remotely (XP -> 2003)

Ken Allen

I am using Windows XP Pro as my desktop, and Windows 2003 on my test
syste, where Visual Studio .Net 1.1 is installed on both systems.

When I attempt to debug an applicaiton on my desktop computure but
indicate that I want the executable to run on the test system, I get
"access denied".

I have set the intranet zone security to full trust on both systems.

On the test systems I have added my account as a "Debugger User", and I
am logged in on both system under my own account.

In the project settings under debugging, I have tried both "Project"
debug mode and "Program" debug mode (with a URL for the executable on my
desktop system that is visible from the test system), but I get the same
basic error.

In the project settings under debugging, I have enabled remote debugging
and entered the name of the test system.

The frustrating thing is that I used to do this with no problems when
the test system was running Windows 2000 Pro!

Can anyone help with this problem?

Hi Ken,
I've the same problem, but I'm using Win Server 2003 as desktop and Win 2000
in my test system.
When I select the process I get "access denied". Today I've posted a
question about this problem, I hope someone helps us.

Regards
denny
