I have a user running Office Outlook 2003 and connected to Microsoft Exchange
2000 that is unable to create any new folders in their mailbox. This was
working previously and has created new folders before. Just ceased to work as
of monday and refuses to create a folder anywhere within the mailbox.

Anyone any ideas? i have checked the permissions to the mailbox and they are
fine as is their AD account.

The error that outlook gives isnt very helpful and just consists of "Unable
to create folder"

Im a bit stuck with this one now so any help would be most welcome.

Thanks

Have you tried opening Outlook with the /resetfolders switch? There's nothing
on the PC/notebook that changed? Nothing in the event viewer?

Have tried the /resetfolders and also done an update to the latest service
pack and patches. No change.
When outlook is shutdown i get an application error and in the event viewer
an Event id 1000 is displayed. with the descroption

Faulting application outlook.exe, version 11.0.5510.0, stamp 3f1380f0,
faulting module oleau32.dll, version 5.1.2600.2180, stamp 411096f3, debug? 0,
fault address 0x00004cc5.

I beleive this may be the cause of the problem but have no idea how to fix it.

Thanks

Along with that event number there should be a source as well. You can check
the event numbers and corresponding sources at: http://www.eventid.net and
find tons of information there regarding the errors, what may have caused
them, and what other people have done to fix them.
