Hello!
My house was struck by lightening, causing a PC to be rendered
useless. I installed the hard drives into another computer to retrieve
the data. (the data is ok! yay!)
When trying to copy files & folders from the OS drive (my documents,
etc) onto the drive it used to live with on the old machine, i keep
getting an error:
"Cannot copy XYZ file: Access is denied. Make sure the disk is not
full or write-protected and that the file is not currently in use"
So, there is 100GB free on the HD its being moved to, 79GB free on the
drive the files live on. The files have never been opened on this
machine. SOME of the files are marked as "Read Only" but It will not
allow me to remove that designation - saying I don't have permissions.
Others are not.
Anyone know of anyway to copy/move these files from one hard drive to
another without getting dumb errors?
I am on Win XP Home Edition.
Thank you VERY MUCH
