Unable to connect to some pages

WinXP PRO, latest updates

For an unexplained reason a friend of mine is unable to connect to some Web
pages,
e.g. http://www.flyzoom.com/ No specific error message, but "The page
cannot be displayed..."
Deleted Cookies and Files, rebooted several times, ran SpyBot, Ad-Aware,
checked restricted sites.
What else can we do to fix the Browser or whatever problem he has. He does
not have an alternate browser installed.
Thank you

Otto

Hi,
First, check for a HOSTS file. To check the HOSTS file in Windows XP...
Make sure that Windows is showing hidden files and is
not hiding file extensions for known file types then check for a HOSTS file
at [C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc] Open the HOSTS file with notepad. If
there are entries you wish to disable, you can put the pound sign (#) in
front an entry to disable it. Then File> Save. Or you can rename the HOSTS
file to HOSTS.OLD to disable it.
More at: http://mvps.org/winhelp2002/hostsfaq.htm#Button

Try, from Start> Run enter
ipconfig /flushdns
then clear the Temporary Internet Files and restart.

Try... Turn on the Windows Firewall (from Control Panel or Security Center)
and disable a third-party firewall. Try disabling (briefly, as a test) any
third-party security, ad-blocking or privacy programs that are running.

Other possibilities:
IE- Can't display- DNS Errors: http://inetexplorer.mvps.org/answers/16.html

Hope this helps,
Don
