Unable to connect cloient to Internet.

I have small hardwired home network. Client connects via hub to ICS host and
internet.

I've been cleaning up laptop - removing old programs etc, and updating the
OS with updates. Note at this point I had Internet access to be able to
download the updates. Now I can't. The last thing in the cleanup process I
remember is using Norton Windoctor. I let it automatically repair. May be
this caused my problem. Can anyone help me get reconnected and guide me
through the repair process ???
