Unable to communicate both ways!

I am unable to communicate from my laptop to the main desktop computer (both
run Windows XP Home, SP2). The main desktop is connected to a Netgear
802.11B router and cable modem.

I can connect to the laptop shared files and use the printer on the laptop.
I am able to see the desktop in my workgroup but when trying to get to it
from the laptop I get a popup screen asking for a password. There is no
password assigned to the desktop.

Any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

Confused & Frustrated!!!
