Unable to close a query

I am having a strange problem where I cannot close a
query without saving it. I create a query to change data
while developing a database but when I try to close the
query I am asked to save it. I can only cancel the save
operation I can't close the query. I have to save the
query and then go to the database window and delete it.
Is there some settings that I may have changed that could
cause this?

Hi,
when you create a query you are asked to save changes, as
far as i know this is standard access procedure. Youll
just have to delete it like you have been doing.

Thanks Harry, but thats not the problem.

Usually when I save a query I can save it or close it
without saving it, in which case the query is lost.
Access is not giving me the option of closing without
saving. I have to save it or I cannot close it.
