Unable to add appointment

Two users are having the same intermittent issue with their calendars. They
both operate a Windows XP SP2 machine with Office 2003 SP2.

On occasions, Outlook's calendar will not allow the user to do anything in
it, this includes, creating appointments/all day events, viewing existing
items, deleting, etc.

When you (normally) double click or right click and select 'New Appointment'
a window will popup and you can input the details in, but on these two,
nothing happens. You double click and get nothing, no error message, no error
tone, no other kind of popup.

Both users calendars will work if the computer is rebooted, but this is only
a temporary workaround as the problem occurs again soon, possibly an hour
later, sometimes a day or two.

Is there anything anyone can suggest?

try resetting the view - you'll probably need to start outlook using the
/cleanviews switch, but can try just resetting the current view to see if it
takes care of it.

That didn't resolve it, didn't do anything other than reset the views.

Here's some things I've tried...
- As stated below, Start > Run > Outlook.exe /clearviews
- Detect and Repair,
- Complete reinstall of Office 2003, removing SP3 and replacing it with SP2

I have done the routine checks to try and get it working, and i'm
considering upgrading to Office 2007.

Is there anything else I can try?

And that wouldn't do anything but produce an error because the command
switch is /cleanviews, nit /clearviews

I'd try a new mail profile before shelling out for OL 2007.

Installed Office 2007 to fix this problem...

By the way, I did /cleanviews in the run line, I just did a typo here.

New profile was created but didn't do anything either.

Troubles now begin with learning to navigate Office 2007...
