After opening a new personal file (pst) I am unable to open the old one. It
still appears in Outlook, and the inbox repair tool renders an error message.
The file is less than 2G. Any help would be appreciated.

Are you using Outlook 2003? If not upgrade and install the latest service
pack. How big is the .pst file? If it's approaching 2GB than realistically
even Outlook 2K3 will have trouble with it. That's a huge .pst file.

Outlook 2003 does not have any problems with large .pst files if using
unicode file format for the .pst file. I have a .pst file that is over 3
gigs and growing - Outlook's unicode file format allows for up to 32
terrabyte .pst files.

TRy running scanpst.exe Do a search for it on you system. Run it and select
the affected pst file and it should fix the problems and then you shoul dbe
able to view the PST file.
