un/protecting VBA project

Does anyone know whether it is possible to un/protect a
VBA project, e.g. something like:

ActiveWorkbook.VBProject.Protect Password:="X"
(doesn't work for excel97)

No, not possible, unless you use the (unreliable) SendKeys method.

Sendkeys is the only way other than manually.
