Umax 600P scanner

My Umax 600P scanner is not working - it's hooked up, but
I guess I need to get the right driver. Someone told me
to use the driver that comes w/ XP (I'm on Windows XP
Home) for the 610P and it would work. But how do you do
that? (I'm not very computer savy). You have no idea
how appreciative I would be if someone could explain this
to me...how to do it!

Sorry - XP only supports the UMAX 610P - not the 600P. (Your friend might be
thinking of the 600S)

But if you want to try it anyways...Click the START menu button. Right-click
on My Computer and select Properties. from the Properties dialog, choose the
Hardware tab. Press the Add Hardware Wizard. Press Next. Select "Yes" and
press Next. Move the slider down to the bottom and select "Add new Hardware
Device" and goto the Next dialog. Now select to Install manually. Press
Next.

In this next list, select Imaging Devices and press Next. Go down to UMAX
and select the UMAX 610P and press NEXT. Keep pressing NEXT keeping default
selections (if they apply).
