Ultimate boot CD

B

Bill

After reading the low level format tool thread (a couple of threads above) I
had a look at Ultimate Boot CD.

Simple question:

I have downloaded it, unzipped the file then extracted the ISO image. I now
have all the files in a folder. Is that it, is it now ready to simply burn
to a CD? I assume now I simply open the folder, select all the files and
burn them, is this correct.

Thanks in advance for any advice

Bill,

I did the same thing the first time I downloaded Ultimate Boot CD too.
And I quickly discovered that ISO's don't work that way.

Here is how to do it:
* Download the iso (it may arrive in a zip file, so remove the iso from
the zip).
* Leave the iso exactly as it is. Don't open it or extract any files
from it.
* Use a Cd Burner to burn the intact iso directly from its location on
your hard drive.

I use CDBurnerXP from
http://www.snapfiles.com/download/dlcdburnerxp.html.
In the file menu, you select the command "Write disc from ISO file..."
and follow the instructions and command boxes to show CDBurnerXP where
the ISO is located on your drive. CDBurnerXP will then burn the ISO
onto your CD, and you have a working copy of the Ultimate Boot CD.

I don't have any experience with other freeware burners so I can't help
you with them, but you can search their help files or their originating
websites for keywords such as "ISO," "burn ISO," or "write ISO."
Perhaps you could tell us what burner you are using and a kind soul in
this NG can provide some assistance.

Take care!

Another way to do this is to use Daemon tools or if you have a version
of nero 6X version you can setup nero imagedrive.. then you can mount
the iso and use the disk copy function of your burning software ...
burning a copy of the mounted image to a new CD

Dear God, don't you people believe in reading the freaking instructions
to *ANYTHING*?
