Can anyone recommend a UK ISP which will allow me access to a news server?
I am currently using Wanadoo and they recently dropped their news service
without warning, leaving me with nothing but MS groups.
Should I keep Wanadoo and pay for a dedicated news server?

Those are two choices, but there's also a third: you can keep Wanadoo, and
use one of the free news servers around. The free ones usually have fewer
newsgroups, and may have other disadvantages, but do a google search and see
if you can find one that meets your needs.

My ISP is Wanadoo and until the 17th March Wanadoo was my news server also.
I have looked at a few free news servers and at the moment I am trying out
aioe.cjb.net. So far so good. Just text, no binaries. Allows posting.

Thanks for the reply, currently using: reader.greatnowhere.com
and I have got my usual groups back buti t can be slow and not very good for
multipart binaries.
Will look at the one you mentioned.
