Seems that Ubuntu is getting its act together.

While firefox could not be updated automatically by the package installer of
ubuntu in ver 5,
now in version 6.06 it updated firefox from 1.5.0.3 to 1.5.0.4 right away
even though that could be considered a minor update.

The dvd version provides tons of additional software you can install....Lots
of improvments...

They are getting there, and vista is getting worse.... I see more and more
people moving towards linux in the future...

I bought a webcam recently - and I gave up on trying to find something
that was guaranteed to be Linux-compatable. I installed Xubuntu a short
while later, only to discover that it listed its webcam support
(although how real that support is another matter).

It would be nice to see a lot of cooperation between hardware
manufacturers and something like Ubuntu. Realistically, I think it will
take more mass before manufacturers come to the conclusion that there's
money to be made from Linux-compatable hardware. Let's just hope it's
not too much more mass.

if more people use ilinux, then drivers will be made for it....or at least
the vendors will open
the driver source code so the open source community can make them
themselves.

hardware sellers just want to sell, and if they see a market in linux users
they will do it... its simple...

Linux will never appeal to the mainstream until it is as easy to use
as Windows. I wish all the effort spent in developing competing
distros was used in standardizing ONE Linux distro and creating
drivers. Microsoft figured this out years ago but Linux developers are
still herding cats. MS knows who their customers are, Linuxians don't.

Sigh...

LOL!!!! Funny Phrase.... :-)

I agree.. I think one day somebody will make a linux that rocks, thats
better than all the rest by far
and easy to use.... I hope so....

Probably around the time someone makes a Windows that's not seriously
brain-dead.
