Typing in an outline format

Mike

Does anyone know how to type in an outline format similar
to the extremely easy method of doing so in WordPerfect?
I use Office XP (Word 2002?) and the only thing I've
found for typing in an outline format is the method for
creating an outline (Outline, in the View function).
This is an awfully unfriendly method and every person
that I ask says the same thing, "Typing in an outline
format in Word just ain't easy!" I can't believe this.

Any help for this Word dummy would be very, very
appreciated!
