Vista - system wide (office, notepad, and so on) problem

Period or dot entry made in text window – produces..... – 5 periods or
dots.....like you see here twice......now three times

Any suggestions for a fix?

Does the 'dot' key on the number pad do the same or is it just the regular
dot key?

Clean the crumbs or other dirt or whatever is in between the keys so it
don't stick anymore.

New keyboard?

I had this problem not on vista, but on an XP machine I had installed my
first copy of office XP on. It turns out that it automagically enabled
the voice recognition, and I kept getting periods when it was receiving
sounds from the background and trying to do voice recognition on them.
However it couldn't make out the background noise as words, henceforth
the periods. Vista has this voice recognition feature available, so
make sure it is turned off.

I don't have any problems with periods, but then I'm a bloke ;-)

Yep, especially if it was a cheap one bought in a 'five for the price of
one' sale !

Have you tried a different keyboard? It could be a keyboard issue!
