Two Word Documents Problem

Greetings!

If I try to open a second word document when one is already open and
minimized in the toolbar Word maxmizes the first and second documents on my
desktop. How do I get Word to stop maxmizing a word document that is
minimized in the toolbar when opening a second document?

See if going to Tools/Options/View and the "Windows in Taskbar" option
is what you are looking for.

Sorry to break in here but I was having the same problem as Dave in his
original post. I did as you suggested but all I was able to locate was an
option for "Windows in Taskbar". When deselected this appears to have Word
operate in an MDI mode (as opposed to the default SDI mode). The behavior
of the SDI operation is my preference however, I do not want Word to assume
when I open a new document that I want an existing, minimized instance of
Word to open as well. Is there any way to have my cake and eat it too? Just
curious, what is the rationale behind this feature?
