Two Windows XP installed?

When I boot up, the screen shows two lines of Windows XP Professional. If I
highlight the one and push enter, the computer boots up. If I highlight and
enter on the other one, it doesn't work. I think I have two installations
of Windows XP in my computer. The hard drive says, 7.2 GB of a 9.33 GB hard
drive is in use and the only thing on the computer is Windows XP. Can one
installation of Windows XP take that much room?

If that is the problem, how do I get that second installation out of the
computer?

Please post your boot.ini file.
HAve you ever tried a repair or new install?
Please provide a list with all HDD and partitions.
What is installled on each?

Use My computer and / or Start> Run > compmgmt.msc
then under Storage, Disk management

Use msconfig to Check the Boot paths. Enter "msconfig" in the Run Dialog
box, then go to the Boot.ini tab and click "Check All Boot Paths".

I don't undersatnd why does everyone give "Quick Answer", obviously something
has created incorrect entry in Boot.ini file.

Why not fix the whole problem??

Because 99% of the time the two links I provided fix this often asked
problem. If it doesn't they post back.
My links stress making changes only after backing up the boot.ini file and
explain the procedure thoroughly.
Thanks for asking.

Well what are you going to do with an invalid path in the boot.ini file.
There is nothing referenced to it. 7.2 GB is probably right with XP
installed including all the updates, the pagefile, system restore points and
temporary files.

My answer would have been different if the boot path was valid.
