Two types of protection

Hello
I would like to be able to set up a document which allows input from users
but where the base document cannot be tampered with. Protecting the document
as a form will allow users to edit, but not apply formatting. My users will
want to be able to apply bullet points, bold, etc. Has anybody any
suggestions? Many thanks in advance.

What you ask is not possible. Any document that you allow users to see can
be edited - even a document protected for forms. The idea of document
protection for forms is to allow users to simply tab between fields and fill
data in a pre-formatted document, without accidentally disturbing the
underlying text.

I suppose you could insert standing text as a graphic which would make
editing it rather more difficult. (Copy the text to the clipboard then edit
paste special as picture to put it back.)

Thank you so much. I thought it was a long shot. Your suggestion of pasting
text as a picture is a good one but I agree would make editing a bit
difficult. Thanks again.
