Two squares in Wwindows XP Explorer

I have a desktop PC with Windows XP Home. Problem is files keep getting
created all over my hard drive (one per folder) whose name appears as
two squares (I mean two square icons). I can delete the files, but
they keep coming back. I think Windows 2000 had a similar problem
after connecting the PC to a network. Has anyone seen this happen in
Windows XP? How do you stop this annoying thing from happening?

You stop this annoying thing from happening is to ensure your system is
updated automatically for:

1) Windows Security patches and Service packs
2) Anti Virus signature files
3) MS anti-spyware Beta version
4) All Applications patch files e.g. Office, Roxio, Nero, etc

Now you need to start with MS Anti-spyware and scan your system
thoroughly to see if you have any scumwares.
