two simultaneous network adapters

Is it possible, (and if so, how), can I enable my windows XP Pro PC to
simultaneously connect to a wired and a wireless network simultaneously, and
select which connection to access which network resources through?

I am part of a windows domain at my office, and I normally access fileshares
on the network and a exchange server for email etc through the wired ethernet
connection. A wireless network is also available in my office, to connect to
the internet. However, the wireless network is quite independent, (meant for
external customers), and as such, being on the wireless network does not give
a machine access to resources (fileshares and the exchange server) on the
windows domain.

I have found that I can turn both my wireless and wired connection on
simultaneously. I start with my wireless connection disabled, and my wired
connection enabled, and can access all the domain resources normally. As soon
as I enable my the wireless connection, I lose the ability to connect to the
domain resources. It is as if my machine is trying to connect to domain
resources through the wireless network. I have tried bumping my wired network
higher than my wireless network in the list of "Access network resources
through this connection", as well as disabling "File and Printer Sharing" in
the list of items used by the wireless network.

I'm stumped, and so are the good folks at Google answers. Please Help.

Consult with the network administrators at the office. They can tell
you whether what you want to do is allowed -- some companies prohibit
connecting to another network and to the company network at the same
time because it can be a security risk. If it's allowed, they should
be able to tell you how to do it.
