Two same documents with different sizes

I have 2 UserGuides, EN and FR. They have lots of pictures, same things;
however the Englis version is 19,000 MB and the French one only 2,800 MB.
How can I shrink the English one?
 
19,000 mb? Surely not?
Display the formatting marks (Press ¶ or CTRL+* ) then copy all but the last
paragraph mark to a new document based on the same template. Save it with a
new name.
