I've just d/l the quadro drivers and modded inf file. What do I do with the inf file? Replace the one in the Nvidia folder?

Extract the drivers to C/Nvidai etc

Install will fail.

Go to C/Nvidia (cant remember the exact location but its easy to find. Think itsa folder called 'Drivers'

Drop the .inf into the folder, if its the right one you will be asked to overwrite.

Then double click the 'setup.exe'

Install as normal.

Dont bother with the Updater or 3D if you dont use it. and i suggest you use the 'clean install' tick box too :)

Done. :).

You're confusing me. The drivers I've just d/l aren't a zip or rar file, they're an executable file.

Normally I just click on new drivers and they install, I don't usually bother with total removal of old drivers. Haven't had any probs in at least five years IIRC.

So I really am at quite a loss here.

Surely if I click on the exe file it will just install?

Ok, sussed it, Quadro drivers now installed.

I never used to watch what happened when I installed new GPU drivers but when I started installing the quadro drivers I noticed they did load the package into the relevant folder on C drive before a window popped up prompting install. The window informed me, as you said, the install had failed. Popped the inf file thingie in there, clicked back a level and hit the setup.exe.

Didn't install the 2 3D options, ticked the clean install box and away it went, 2 reboots during install.

My Nvidia folder contained six other folders with previous drivers so you could say it was a little cluttered, they're gone now.

I have found some suggestions to cure the poor mouse & keyboard control for the PC version of Dead Space 1 cos out the box they're rubbish. I'm going to try them now which is why I thought it might be a good idea to have the latest drivers installed.

Thanks for the links V_R, good stuff :thumb:

Ah yes, what happens when you first double click the exe it extracts them to C/Nvidia, then installs. But i see you sussed it. :)

also you can delete the Nvidia folder in the root of C .:)

Oh and I replied to my Kustompcs thread about my Crysis game performance.
