Two Identical Administrators (with same name)

My technician did not arrange for Administrator (me) to have a password
during setup. Can I just do this now (three months later)?

Do I do this in Control Panel, or in Computer Management?

Also, it looks like I am two identical users:
Don, administrator
and
Don, administrator

I can switch to either of them, but they show up exactly the same at the
Welcome screen. The only difference is: both desktops are arranged the same,
EXCEPT one of the Dons has a Roxio shortcut icon on the desk top.

I would like to eliminate one of them. I don't know which is which.

The document to answer part 1 (how to create and configure user accounts
using the New User Accounts tool) also answered my dilemma to whether I
should use Control Panel or Computer Management, because one part of Help
and Support uses Control Panel and another part always refers to Computer
Management. I didn't see anywhere, where they discussed changing from one
method to another method.

Part Two: I did the exercise at the Command Prompt, then I logged off and
shut down. When I came back in, I switched user and did the exercise again.
Both screens were identical (administrator and Don). That was reassuring.
To help it make sense I went into Computer Management and really studied the
Users and the Groups, also looking at properties, etc.

I've read *much* in Help and Support, but now I finally know exactly how to
use the new user/new account procedures. Most of us work in a dark closet,
and don't know how to view many things that would help us to figure it out
on our own. I'm not about to "do something on my computer" until I'm pretty
sure I understand it

So thanks. Your response was extremely helpful. dsg
