Two Favorites lists - how to combine?

When I moved from Win98 to XP I copied/imported my Favorites list from 98.
I didn't discover until recently that I now had 2 separate lists and
whenever I bookmarked a new URL it seemed to go into either one at random.
Now I've got the 2 lists which list mostly duplicates but there are a fair
number of entries that are exclusive to one or the other of the lists. I
tried to combine them by copying one of the Favorites folders to the other,
but that doesn't work; I still end up with the 2 unchanged lists.

Is there a simple ,one step way to end up with one combined list, and just
delete the duplicates?

Download TweakUI for XP and use it to point to one location for Special
Folders; which includes Favorites. Look in My Computer\Special Folders once
you have it installed.

Your Favorites folder should be %homepath%\Favorites or
C:\Documents and Settings\Your Name Here\Favorites

Type favorites in Start | Run, click OK and see what pops up.

Move everything from the other Favorites folder to %homepath%\Favorites.
