tweak ui problems

davs

when i first installed tweak ui i later found out it was an nt version so
tryed to uninstall and it still resides in my control panel and seems to be
fully functional but perhaps fighting with the xp version i later installed
and use.

My main problem: i tweaked a bunch of settings in tweak ui 2.10.0.0. Before
the changes my pc would boot all the way into windows in about 10 seconds,
(man was i happy to get new hardware) now it takes a minute and sometimes
more, most time spent on the boot screen, not the login screen.

I dont believe this now slow boot time has anything to do with the two
versions of tweak ui on my system because i didnt start having problems till
later down the road having tweaked settings with the xp version.

All I want is to reset my personal settings back to factory defaults (when
it was booting in 10 seconds)
Ive uninstalled the two versions of tweak ui that were showing up in the
add/remove and still the nt version is in my control panel, Ive searched
regedit for anything that matched tweak and nothing valid seems to be
showing up.

This is quite an annoyance seeing i used to boot faster with a 1.2ghz
processor.
Can someone please give me guidance that does not require repairing xp with
the cd, or using the xp cd at all ?

thanks alot,
Ryan

You can also download Bootvis from Microsoft. Bootvis is a Boot
performance trace visualization tool for use with Windows XP systems.
It gives a graphical view of what processes are doing what and when
during boot and allow you to optimize your boot up. After you've done
your troubleshooting, remember to turn off tracing.

Good luck
