you *could* hook your TV up to your computer and use your TV as the
monitor, but it looks like shit and you can't read any text on the
internet or in emails. a TV's maximum resolution is very small, and
TVs aren't as fine grained as even cheap-o monitors, so all your text
would be very blurry.
