i figured this newsgroup would be the best to ask..

I'm planning on building my own linux pc shortly, which i also wish to use
as a tv. not quite planned the details yet, but I need to invest in a
monitor pronto as my old one is barely readable.

taking into account what i want to do with my new pc, i was thinking of the
mitsubishi diamond plus 93sb (19"). anyone use that monitor, or have any
other recommendations? it seems to have good reviews and is in my price
range..

if you can afford it i'd look into a widescreen LCD monitor with built in TV
