Here's a project I'd like to assault One Of These Days:
using the IR capability of a laptop to control the teevee,
CD player, DVD player, cable teevee box and other kinds of
entertainment electronics. I have a couple of old working
Thinkpads that I can dedicate to the project.

Anyone have some pointers to a place to start?
Google gives me either too many or too few hits.

Marten..... a couple of years ago I ran across a web site that had
hundreds of the indivual codes by function, used by remote controls.
Can't find it in my archives, but I found this:

Maybe a starting point.
