I am working with MS Word in the Office 2007 small business suite.

I am doing my files in the compatibility mode for 2003 version.

I can not find a print layout mode (I fnd print preview, but it does not
allow editing)
I find page layout mode but it does not birng up an option to discontinue
same as previous. I am new to this and am formatting a 350 page book.
(headaches!!)

Help, and thanks!!

You should be in Print Layout view (click the first of the view
buttons in the status bar at the bottom right of the window).

Double-click in the header area to get the cursor into the header text
(or click the Insert ribbon, click the Header button, and choose Edit
Header at the bottom of the gallery).

Only when the cursor is in the header, you'll see the Header & Footer
Tools on the ribbon. In the Navigation group, the "Link to Previous"
button is a toggle that you can turn off and on by clicking
repeatedly. (The button will be grayed out in the Section 1 header
because there is no previous header.)
