turn off DEP

How do I turn off this *#&%$* DEP?

I mean, really turn it off as in, stop it from running. Period.

At the moment, it keeps popping up and preventing a windows component from
running. I've tried telling it to NOT protect the program but that doesn't
help.

DEP is part of SP2; you cannot disable it completely.

You can disable DEP.

Open boot.ini in your C:

add (or modify) noexecute to ALWAYSOFF

/noexecute=ALWAYSOFF

BE CAREFUL!! .. incorrect adjustments may make your computer unbootable!
