not a very helpful answer!
prat...

James,

I believe it depends on your BIOS and what state you want the PC to 'Turn
On' from..

E.g. from standby...

i am no expert, but i have just started looking at this for my MCE PC.. any
further info you can supply? i can pass on my findings when i find it...

So please tell me the difference between pressing a "key" once and pressing
the "on button" once? NONE! Now who's a prat?

What?

Maybe the computer is out of reach and it would be easier to be able to
power up using the keyboard? think! besides, he did not ask for a debate on
how he should be using his PC.

anyway... to answer the original question, i have been looking through my
Motherboard manual and it is possible for me to do it, so i suppose it would
depend on your motherboard/BIOS, i would suggest tracking down a manual for
it and having a quick read.

cheers

No - he asked how to turn it on by pressing a "key" (or button - what's the
difference?) once.
No mention that the machine was out of reach. (If it is, how does he insert
CDs or other removable media?)

OK,

I can see you are one of those (i have had experience before) with nothing
better to do than just like to start some sort petty argument just because
whoever did not ask the question in exactly the right way, or explained
every aspect of the situation and problem to the n'th degree.

I however was rightly or wrongly taking what he said (as most people would)
to be a simple question to the community to ask if he could power up his
computer with 'another' button/key other than the power button on the front
of his computer.

enjoy

James
