Tun Miniport #2 problem

Microsoft Tun Miniport Adapter #2 doesn't work properly - it reports, "This device cannot start. (Code 10)". I can't uninstall the device. I'm pretty sure that the problem began when I tried to use a new Fujifilm 128 Mb USB 'drive' - because I can't use it, even though it was supposedly installed properly. (It doesn't show as a new drive in 'My Computer'.) Even booting into Safe mode doesn't help

Do I need to uninstall IPv6 and reinstall it to fix this? (From review of the other threads, this seems to be the reason the device won't uninstall.) What sequence should I use? Will this device ever work with my USB 1.1 port

I'm quite 'computer literate' - been using/modifying/programming PCs since the original IBM PC (1982.) Regedit doesn't frighten me, and the system is backed up..

[Toshiba Satellite Pro 4260 ZDVD, 320 Mb, XP Pro with all patches up-to-date, ZoneAlarm (free) 4.5.538.001, Norton AntiVirus 2003 - all patches applied, Linksys EtherFast 10/100 Cardbus PC Card v. II (PCMPC200 vII). Used in a networked environment with ADSL access.

HELP

I have since learned that my USB problem and this 'Tun Miniport #2' problem are quite separate. I have fixed the USB problem for now - although I don't like the solution.

The 'Tun Miniport #2' problem persists...
