I'm trying to run system file checker and when I do I get a pop up window
that states "files that are required for windows to run properly must coppied
to the Dll Cache. Insert you Win XP CD.
When I do so, the windows screen opens and ask me what I want to do.
I've looked at the four options but I don't see any solutions. It won't let
me reinstall windows because my files are newer then on CD.
I thought that I would see a repair option on the CD, but do not. Is there
a way to run the sfc of the CD

When prompted, click "Do Nothing". Then, click OK on the earlier prompt
that asked for the CD. Or just insert the CD, click "Do Nothing", then run:

SFC /Scannow

You do that there and then - do not reboot and do nothing else, the program will
look for the files on the CD and install what is necessary.
