Trying to set cell value using macro

Hello,

I am trying to set the value of a cell to 1 using the Auto_Open Macro.
the problem is that the cell i am trying to set the value to is a
list. The cell is set as a list box using the data - validation
-allow : list method. I am not sure how to go about setting the value
of this cell to 1 everytime the excel spreadsheet is opened.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

worksheets("sheet1").range("A1").value=1
