trying to save a presentation (pps) It doesn't work

I've tried to save a presentation (pps) for automatic running, but I can't.
Saving it as pps, it opens as ppt.

Any suggestions?

I'm using power point 2003
 
HOW are you opening?

pps files only open in show mode if you open from windows explorer (ie
double click) File > Open will always open in edit mode.

If this is not the problem get back.
