I can access both computers from the win98 but when i try to access win98 on
my xp i get this message:
\\nat1 not accessible you might not have permission to use this network
resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have
access permission.
Incorrect parameter.

I have checked all my settings for sharing files and printers, all is
checked. What did i do wrong?

Thanks for any help!

Another thing to check is the IP address each machine is using and that the
Mask is the same on each PC. If the mask isn't the same the PCs are in two
different IP subnetrs and may not be able to communicate with one another.

In win 98 go to start-run and run winipcfg. Choose the lan adapter and the
information will be displayed.

In XP go to the command prompt (Dos prompt) and type in ipconfig and it will
display the information.

The mask should typically be something like 255.255.255.0 although that
isn't always true.

I use a Zoom adsl modem/router and it has been a little inconsistent when
doling out the IP addresses via DHCP. The mask is occasionally wrong.
