Trying to install Directx, keep getting Win32 Cabinet Error message

My name is Zach and I am trying to install Directx in Windows XP Home Edition
and I keep getting this Win32 Cabinet Self-Extractor Error Messange and must
close. What can I do to fix This? I am computer literate but I am no
Computer tech. Please Help!
 
Maybe try the Windows XP newsgroups. This one is for Windows Vista, which
already has DirectX.
